Hello All, Since I have had Waldo He has had a small bulge on the back of his right foot, it isnt too big but the foot it is on also looks a little big. Could it be mbd or what? Thankyou!!

Yes, we would definitely need a photo. And your current husbandry: temps, cage, food sources, supplement schedule. There are several situations that could cause this: abscess, MBD, nutritional imbalance, gout or pseudo gout, or incidental injury.

You've probably answered the husbandry questions before, but your current temps, food source, and supplement schedule would be critical info for this situation.

Im not sure if it's a bulge but it doesnt stick out a lot and only lookslike it does when his skin creases. Maybe I'm over reacting.

Try to get us a photo anyway. The are folks here with so many years' experience that they can give you good peace of mind, if nothing else. You know your cham, and there is a reason you are concerned.

I need help on a better dusting schedule
too much d3 is I heard is too dangerous and it can cause kidney failure and other stuff What's a good dustng schedule for a cham his age I know Vince knows exactly what he's talking about but...

i do the same thing for all my babys and have not had a prob yet. when they get bigger is when you slow down on the sups and work more on your gut loads
wait i only do both 3 times a week im sorry mon wed fri is when i do it

well they like to sleep in to hahahah i just give them some time off of it plus i gut load verry well so they still get what they need the hole thing is not to depend on your sups as when the get older you dont have to do it as much

It does look like your D3 may be too much. especially if you occ take your cham out in to ambient sunlight. You may only need D3 once every other week. calcium can be every other day. Check out brad ramsey's site for a more detailed schedule.

Hypervitanamosis(sp) may be causing the edema but it is really hard to tell without pics.

so those pictures are really important at this point

Hope this helps

At that age I would only use D3 3 or 4 times a month and then when he's alittle older only twice a month. Can you post a picture of the foot? Jann
