building my first tube cage...

i am really liking the way this "tube" style thing is coming along!
used a water heater drip pan for the base,
using coated hardware cloth for the screen,
using some bamboo lengths to add stability,
using a screen top (i hope) we'll see
and decided to use some leftover plate hangers
to secure "the door".
the door is just gonna be a hole i cut in the screen.

any thoughts from someone that has made this style cage?

I'd like to see what you end up with. I've been considering the same project, but I keep getting hung up on the door design.

Door idea!

Get a big pack of thin bamboo sticks, or just buy a placemat made of bamboo.

Get some hooks

Put the round part of the hooks (maybe 2 hooks-3 hooks) and find a way to put it around the bamboo. Put the other end of the hook open, and attach it to the screen used in the tube.

Maybe find a creative way (like fishing line) to tie the bamboo w/out the hooks to the other side of the opening in the screen to make a "door".

not enough structure to just use the plate hangers...
