Brown or black in cage.

I have a 3.5-4 month panther, and he is usually brown or black when I his cage. When I take him out for natural light he brightens up and displays nice colors. My basking temp is around 83 degrees and I have a T5 fixture. He also has been spending a lot of time upside down on the ceiling recently. Just wanted to see if this is normal behavior.

Its normal. How long has he been in your care?

My veiled was always a dark coloration when I first got him. Normally when basking they will have a darker coloration to help absorb heat.

I have had him for a little over a month now. Good to know its normal behavior. Do you know how long it usually takes for them to acclimate to a new environment?
