I have a 11 month old male and an 8-9 month female Jacksons and was wondering when and how to introduce them to one another. Is there a certain time of year? Should I put him in her cage or her in his? Lots of ?'s, any help would be benificial.

i think normally they are ready to mate at around a year, so you may want to wait another month or two.

as for who's cage, put hers in his cage.

if she turns black, take her out and try again in a few weeks,
but should the male start bobbin his head, put on the barry white and let things take its course.

I usually make sure I don't breed a chameleon before its fully grown.

To mate them, I hold the female outside the male's cage to let them see each other without being able to attack each other should they be non-receptive. If the female acts in a receptive fashion and the male doesn't act aggressively then I put the female into the male's cage and keep an eye on them for a few minutes to make sure things don't take a turn for the worse.

Aggressive behavior/non-receptive behavior includes but is not limited to...gaping, hissing, lunging towards the prospective partner, etc.

If they behave aggressively or in a non-receptive way then don't put them together and try again in a few days.
