Breeding Crickets?

Do most Chameleon owners breed crickets? I want to do it but Ive read some guides saying its really easy and others Ive read look like a lot of work.

What are your guys opinions on this? Pet store or breeding?

I breed mine. They are pretty easy if you are working with black ones....browns seem harder. I have done it to make sure I know the population my feeders come from and I KNOW what they eat. They are only slightly harder than Dubias which are ...just feed them.

I think breeding crickets is a far bigger pain in the butt than it's worth. Order in bulk and save yourself the trouble (and the smell)!

iv bread them b4

yeah they do smell and are alot of work they always get out no matter how good your cage is. the biggest problem is not breeding them but keeping babies alive as pinheads. iv always seperated mine and found that mold covers them b4 they can grow larger enough to jump. i must have bn doing something wrong. but depending on you cham size if its big enough to eat all size dubias id go with them. also crickets are annoying!!!

as soon as i get my cham i will start breeding crickets myself...as long as their enclosure is clean and they have plenty of food and water, and a place to breed, they are pretty easy..im going to take a tote and make a screen lid and cover a couple inches of the bottom in soil and leave them in there with maybe a large sponge for water and food..you will get all sorts of sizes and many of the babies will be eaten, but oh well..
