Get a picture of the back of his back feet if there is a noticeable spur ( by the looks of yyour pic its a veiled) then its a male.

I think I see tiny spurs there, so male possibly?

That one is hard to tell. I have a female and she sometimes will have a little bump on her feet which looks like the one in the picture. ATM I would say female.

also if i am having trouble with water gathering on the bottom of his cage, what would be a good solution to this. i am using the reptile mat the sell at pet co in a ten gallon tank. i know this is not a tank for long term but how long can i use a tank like this. any helpful advice on caring for a chameleon would be greatly appreciated. thanks

As for drainage I suggest you use the search tool as there are lots of different ways for lots of different enclosures! We use plastic bread crates instead if a cage floor and have the whole thing sitting in a big tray to catch the water. The tray has a hole in it and the water drips into a basin.

I use paper towels on the bottom of the cage and let it dry out before each misting I never have pooling water in the bottom or in my pots.. it can begin to smell bad I have learned.and make your cham sick.
