To all of you that are book-worms, what are some good books that you recommend? I love to read, yet I rarely due, due to the fact that I am quite busy and don't have much time to read, but when I do it's quite hard to find a great book that I can not put down no matter what. Anyone out there with some great suggestions?

Here are a few that I might recommend:

Kite Runner
the curious incident of the dog in the night-time
The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Like I said, rarely read books so my suggestion list is very short.

I can recommend my favourite authors..........Franz Kafka (try some of his short stories to see if you like the style) one of my faves is called 'Investigations of a dog'.
Also Herman Hesse, Aldous Huxley........
My favourite living author is Haruki Murakami.

I'm a book junkie, so here's my list:

The Hunger Games series
Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Water for Elephants
The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses (read Half Broke first, even though it was published 2nd)
The Kindness of Strangers
The Last Lecture by Randy Pausche

Great Authors:
James Michener
Elizabeth Brundage
Mitch Album
Robert Heinlein
Frank McCourt
John Irving

I haven't read a novel in like 8 yearsbut my favorite non fiction books thus far are:

- Monkey Girl
- How to Build a Dinosaur
- The Knife Man

And I'm reading right now: The Fate of the Species (on the various ways we'll cause our own extinction, it's an interesting read lol)

Oooooh! I rarely read fiction, unless my husband insists. How To Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran is utterly amazing, I'm very shy and I actually lol'd in public when reading it.

I'm currently reading smutty erotica (no, not that junk), so won't share that.

Eating Animals is pretty awesome for animal lovers, as is The Omnivore's Dilemma.

Supernature by Lyall Watson is totally eye-opening, I love the way he scientifically inserts the possibility of magic into the world.

A few of my favorites:

What is the What
by Dave Eggers

A Prayer for Owen Meany
by John Irving

Your Inner Fish
by Neil Shubin

I am a big fan of Clive Cussler and the different series that he has going, but also like the sci-fi/fantasy stuff by Glenn Cook and Karen Miller too.

I'm going to have to throw in Game of Thrones/Fire and Ice Series. I couldn't find anything good to read for years and I absolutely loved these books. (Havent seen the show yet.) They're very well written with lots of intrigue (more so in the first half of the series). Well worth the read, but an investment because they are very large books.

Wally Lamb is my favorite author, with my favorite book by him being 'I Know This Much is True'. There's also 'She's Come Undone' and 'The Hour I First Believed'. Loved them all!

I have to mention this, as it is something I am very excited about at the moment. My best friend just released a book this month. It is the first in a 3 book series called 'The Crantz Chronicles'. The book is called 'Growing Up and Other Disasters' by Mandi Hayes Spencer. There is a character in the book based on me(her name is Maggie). You can get it on Amazon. It is a good read and I don't just say that bc she is my best friend. She is the funniest person I have ever met and she really has a way with words. I highly recommend it!!
