Boiling vines from outside?

Well, I've been surfing for a while, preparing myself for getting a chameleon. Most likely a Jackson's.

Anyways I live in Michigan, and have 10acres. We have vines all over the place. Anywhere from 1/4'' in diameter to 2-3'' in diameter. (miles of the stuff) :p

I was wondering if boiling the vines would be just like boiling twigs or sticks from outdoors. The vines seem like they would be a lot more realistic then synthetic. ( I wonder why) ;)

Would this be ok? I plan on doing a free range, been reading as much on that as possible.

Also I'm still probably a month or more away from getting my cham, I'd like to squeeze as much into my brain as possible. So I can provide as best as possibly while at the same time, being able to notice anything that may seem unnatural.

also If anyone has any recc breeders, I was probably going to use flchams, but I see the love many people on here have for their chams, and would be happy to support a private breeder as well.

Thanks.

Hello!
Welcome to Chameleon Forums!

Here is a great discussion on outside plant sanitizing: https://www.chameleonforums.com/cleaning-branches-77863/

I am not sure about the ambient RH where you live, but jacksons need a fairly high RH, and more water than most chams. To free-range a jackson, and keep it healthy may be a difficult task.

Here is a video from forum member Jdog1027 that goes over Jackson Chameleon care. It should give you a good idea on how to keep a jackson.
As he states in his video, its not the only way to keep them, but its a good general overview of what they need:

Again, welcome to the forum, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have!

Thanks, I've watched that, Also watched about every youtube video I could under jackson's and free range.

Not many with the combo free ranging jackson's, but I have seen a few members do it here.

I planned on setting up a corner that will be pretty humid, and many places to go with temp fluctuations. So hopefully he can have a multitude of different climates and choose whatever is to his liking at any given moment.

Although I wouldn't be opposed to trying a diff cham species. I would prefer a smaller cham. So I was thinking male jackson's or female veiled.
Thanks for the link.
