And before people go off on one
1) he has enough ventilation, most of the day the one door is open as its warm here
2) i know about the substrate but his hand fed so i know he doesnt eat the bark chippings
3) his UV is attached to the roof so he does have one
4) im soon getting some live plants for him

Thanks
Andy

Nice enclosure:)

FYI, I have caught mine eating hibiscus leaves/flowers that have fallen off the plant off the bottom of my viv:confused::rolleyes:, just somthing to think about, it all looks realy nice, is it a custom built?

Nice looking! I would personally add more plants and greens and I'd also remove the substrate. I wouldn't quite count on your cham not shooting at the substrate just because you hand feed him. I know some people on the forums have mistaken leaves on the ground for food and shot at the leaves. They are chameleons after all, if it moves, they tend to think it's food.

Looks good though! And he looks good! :D

I know bob and his NEVER touched leaves infact he hates the plants, he'd prefer a bare viv with just branches, so the substrate is staying, they have substrate in the wild so they can have it in captivity

His getting a few more plants but he really doesnt need them as he dont like them... he genereally pulls them on the floor if theyre in his way

The cage isnt custom built no, its a flat pack available over here :p

you are right about the substrate being in the wild, but being arboreal they are probably not too close to the ground too often and not confined to a 3ft x 4 ft area to hunt down prey either. Just sayin.....

It's hilarious how chams know what they like and what they want! You are doing a great job :D

but he hunts out the cage to get his food :p
but yes in the wild they wouldnt be near the bottom, which just like here, bob is never by the bottom

so its staying

Bob looks great the viv looks fab too, i like the fact he has loads to climb on plus all that space. Lucky boy! Will look even better when he has some real plants which of course you must upload more pics when you get them. :D

Will do

if only americans knew the lack of stuff the brits can get hold of, and its not like we can free range like them either !_!

its hard to get a decent setup with the lack of variety over here

Well, I have to agree with that Andy! It's even worse down here on the Isle of Wight for me! Only one reptile specific shop (which is also online) can make things very difficult! We don't have much of a choice where housing is concerned either. I kept my first cham on a substrate (crushed oyster shell) and she would actively eat it when she felt like it! I now realise that she must have been topping up her calcium reserves.

It's hard enough trying to get things to the midwest/east over here (most of the good stuff is on the west coast or in Florida), so I'm sure I can't imagine how it is for you guys!

I would like to say let me order for you and I'll send it over, but the shipping would still be very high.

Stuff over here is already dear enough.. ive thought about importing but the costs of shipping is just ridiculous! so have to try my best with what funds i have and what i can buy with it

Bobs happy with it for now, so im happy :)

I'm with you on that one Andy, we all know the cost of keeping a chameleon aint cheap but in the U.K prices are shocking. I often look at american sites on here and the prices are so much cheaper :/ we are taxed to the max in the U.K. I've often thought about importing but like you've said the shipping costs are mad so just have to carry on being ripped off. Bob looks real pleased with his new home and looks really healthy!
