Bloody poop

On Monday my female veiled, who is about 8-9 months old, pooped a little bit and there was blood in it. I called the vet immediately and they had me bring her in the same day. I brought the little bit of stool with me to the vet and she confirmed that it was in fact blood but it wasn't enough to test for parasites. She said that Hannah looks great, she has no other symptoms. Yesterday (Tuesday) my chameleon finally pooped again so I brought in a better sample. There wasn't any blood in that one. Today (Wednesday) they called me to say that the sample was negative for parasites. The vet isn't back in until tomorrow so I'm not sure what the next step is yet. She pooped today and it has blood in it again. She has only eaten crickets recently and is having normal sized bowl movements. This last one was a bit runny but her urates are completely white.

Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Any clue what could be going on with her?

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear about Hannah. I've not had this same experience with any of my guys in the past but just wondering where you live in FL and which vet are you using? If your vet is not experienced with chameleons, I would suggest taking Hannah along with a poop to a reptile vet with chameleon experience. Depending on where you live, I might be able to recommend one.

I took her to see Dr. Rothrock at My Pets Animal Hospital in Lakeland. She is an exotic animal vet who has experience with chameleons

I sure hope Dr. Rothrock is able to figure out what's going on soon. The very best to you and Hannah. Keep me posted on how she's doing.

I just heard from the vet. She thinks that is most likely a reproductive issue and the best thing to do would be to spay her. All she will tell me is that it's risky because chameleons don't do well with anesthesia :( I'm going to try to get an appointment for some time next week with a vet in Tampa for a second opinion before I do have something that drastic done.
