bioactive

Once established, the habitats are visually appealing, easy to care for, and about as natural as your pet is likely to see in captivity. If, however, a bioactive enclosure is not set up properly, it can become dangerous to your animals' well being quite rapidly.

It could be a number of things such as ventilation (chimney effect) or over watering which can cause mildews and molds, or and other things. Someone else can explain that aspect better but with a bit of planning, and upfront expense, a bioactive enclosure helps to provide a more natural environment, while also helping to more naturally balance some of these elements and requirements of chameleon keeping.

Chimney effect is where you have fresh air flow circulating your enclosure by having a vent or screen at the bottom of enclosure and an opening at the top like a screen top so that air can come in through the bottom and escape through top. Continuous fresh air. That is the one of the most important important thing to keep your cham alive

I just looked at your other post about the cage and I don't see any vents on that enclosure. Is the top the only opening for air? Or is there vent on bottom under doors?
