I am a new chameleon owner! honestly though I have no idea what species ( i was told panther and that he was captive bred and 8 months old) but none of this seems right. I went to the vet with him (specialist from the texas zoo) and he has three different kinds of worms and cant really tell his age or if he is a panther, he also has a bruise on his side and the vet said he his wild caught!!! I am not sending him back or concerned about anything but his health, he is so sweet, I named him Kevin, I just want him to have a great life:)

Nice!

Welcome to the forums! Glad you found us :)

Can you upload some pics of your cham? We can identify what type of species you have. With panther chameleons, there are several locales. This is where it gets kinda challenging because some people like to "cross breed" differen't locales. But most likely we'll def figure out what you have.

Also we can tell you if it's a male or female. If it's a female you'll have to do a few things to get her prepared incase she wants to lay eggs, but don't panic.

A mod might move this thread into the "Chameleon Identification" thread.

Congratulations on Kevin. Welcome to the forum. Could you take some time to fill in the husbandry form and post pics and we will help you on your way to looking after Kevin.
