big crickets

I have a 6 month old Veiled named Rodney Dangerfield. He is doing great.

I was sick of going to the pet store a couple times a week so I ordered some crickets on-line. They came and were bigger than I thought.

I read that you don't want anything much bigger than his eyes are across, and these crickets are a bit bigger. I would say a third bigger.

The only thing I have noticed is that he has to chew a few times before he swallows it. I haven't noticed anything where he is having trouble getting them down. His poops are like twice the size though.

I'm just wondering if I am doing something bad in the long run. I have been feeding him these for about 2 weeks now and he is getting bigger. I is just about done shedding for the second time in about a month.

Thanks for the help!

A bit of chewing is not really any problem, but better to stick with the general rule of the eye distance. If he has no trouble eating then keep feeding them. My male won't go for anything too big anyway, so he's probably happy....are they black or brown crickets? Brown are usually thinner, and have thinner exoskeleton armour so you can get away with slightly bigger ones.
