sadly, bedbugs are spreading everywhere. also, yes, you may have brought them home with you as they like to hitchhike in bags or other items.
also, the last thing you want to do is Fumigate all your luggage and clothing.
this will only scatter them all over your house as normal bug bombs don't work on them and just makes them travel away from the gross fog.
what you do want to do is a few things...
first goto this site and read everything and use the forums to ask for help.
http://bedbugger.com/
next, wash your cloths in HOT water and dry on the hottest setting. dry them all for over an hour.
not just what you took with you, but everything in the home...as I'll bet you put quite a few things back in your closets and dresser draws.
eggs can live even after they have been washed and dryed, but heat does seem to help kill them if done long enough.
toss out your luggage...sorry, but if this is all you have to throw away and never have to deal with bedbugs again, then it will be well worth it.
trust me, if you still get bedbugs in your home be prepared to toss out far more then this.
now pssh, as sad as it is going to sound...you will have to be the bait.
unlike others that were with you, you are clearly alergic to the bites and will be able to tell if you got them.
others may have been bitten, but if they have no bites, then they might not be alergic to them.
bedbugs are like mosquitos in that they don't eat food, they suck your blood...so normal baits and bombs don't work.
if you find that as time goes by and nothing is wrong doesn't mean you don't have them.
it can sometimes take months for the population to grow large enough for you to start noticing new bites.
in order to not infest your friends and workplace, stop carrying any handbags and other stuff to work or other places...remember they like to hitchhike in your stuff.
WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T SCRATH THE BITES!!! it will just make it worse.
sometimes hydrocortizone type creams help, so try them.
if by chance you find new bites a month or two down the road, then call a good PCO.
I also want to stress that just because someone is licensed, does not mean they are really experienced with bed bugs.
bedbugs are not like other pests and require a deep understanding of how to get rid of them.
regardless of how little the infestation is, it can still take months to get rid of them. so don't be fooled into thinking that once they come that the nightmare will be over afterwards.
they will need to come at least two times, and in many cases more...every two weeks they should come untill you feel they are gone for good.
feel free to PM me if you wish, but my best advice is to goto that website.
