hi! i have a 20 gallon tank with a live honeysuckle shrub and lots of branches in it. i have 2 electric blue dwarf geckos in there and i have 2 bearded pygmy chameleons in there now, as of 2 days ago. the people at the reptile shop told me that they can live together with no problems (thats how they were living at the store) i have another cage next to my 20 gallon tank with a crested gecko in it. hes usually quiet but when he eats crickets he kind of, dives at them with an open mouth and sometimes thats a bit loud. will this scare/ stress the chameleons out? should i move them? and they ate on the first day i got them but have just been sitting on the branches lately. i have had chameleons before, but not pygmys, and i was wondering if they are not as active? they dont look thin or anything but they just dont move around much. is that normal? am i being a paranoid mom? how often do they eat??
thank!
o, also, i mist them about 4 times a day and keep them at a 80 degree temp. with u.v light during the daytime.

The petstore is not correct. You should not house them together. Your pygmies will get stressed and die.

Hi, living together at a pet store does not make them compatible. The geckos and pgymys have very different needs. The pgymy's need coller temps and more humidity than the gecko's What are you feeding the pgymys and what for the gecko's? Also what type of setup do you have in the tank. The pgymy's like a forest floor environment , I am not very familiar with the needs of those electric blue gecko's. We do have a number of gecko people so others will offer gecko opinions.

so, is that why they are staying on the branches for the most part and not moving around a lot?
how often should they eat?
how active should they be?
i heard that your not supposed to handle them very much. is that true? i haven't touched them at all since i got them..

they both eats crickets (dusted). and both require misting. i know the geckos need to be at 80 degrees and thats what the temp in my tank is. and my 20 gallon tank has a lot of branches and leaves for them to hide in. should there be less?

The part about leaving them alone is correct. Where as they don't run all over the cages, most of the time they move a bit, but not always, each day. But if they are stressed you could lose them quickly. Trust in julirs who breeds pgymys so she knows what she is talking about.

By "electric blue gecko" I think you are referring to the Williamsi gecko, which has much different requirements than R. brevicaudatus. The geckos are faster and will eat all the food before the pygmys get a chance to. Pygmys are great at concealing stress and I can guarantee you if you keep them housed in with the geckos you will wake up one day to find one dead.

ok. i have seperated them. and they are now at a 72 degree temp (room temp in my home) so things should be good now yes?
how do i upload images???
and thanks everyone for your help!!!
