basking temp

monty will be 11 weeks on monday, at the monet his basking temp is set to 80 (26), can this be incresrred now he is older? & if so, at what temp/

What is your ambient temperature? (Room temperature) I like to keep my basking temp for my 4 month old ambilobe at 80. In fact, I use a 15w bulb so it doesn't get any hotter. My ambient temps are 75. In the afternoon the temps rise because the cages are in front of my sliders, so I turn off the basking lights or they all sit on their branch under the bulb with their mouths open. I always make sure I mist well in the afternoon to cool them down. When it gets too hit I have a sheer curtain I drop over the window. Most of the time they don't have enough sense to go into the leaves.

We have found that our 12 week old veiled likes his temps at around 30C (30.4C to be exact). Any lower he goes dark, any higher he gapes. I think you just need to have a play around with temps for a couple of days and see how he does.
