Back legs limp after mating

My male veiled has gone from being really strong and vigorous to not being able to use his back legs the day after he attempted breeding. It was his first time and he wasn't very successful, now he can't use his back legs although they can move slightly when he is massaged and he still has great grip in them. He seemed to be impacted also but he has passed many times since. Any ideas? I've been giving him warm baths, massages.....he still eats but can't climb anymore. It is not MBD as he has all he needs including, UVB, calcium and vitamins.
