It's been almost one month on Monday since I got my baby, thought I should give everyone an update...He's about 4 1/2 months old, baby Panther. I had a few worries the first few weeks as he was barely eating but I think I have a system going now! He's still a little skinny, but should start gaining some weight. Thanks to everyone that helped me out.
He has a great little personality and I think he knows who I am actually! I asked my mom to mist his cage one day and as soon as she opened his enclosure he opened his mouth and puffed up
What a character, lol. He's never done this to me. He doesn't run from me at all, well except when I'm misting and he doesn't want to get wet! lol
Food wise, he's a little bit difficult. I'm feeding him 3 week old crickets, the perfect size for him as he's still quite small. He really seems to have no interest in hunting and if I leave a cup in his cage, he doesn't really like going to that side of his cage...he's a difficult boy. So for me to be sure he eats, I cup feed him with the cup in my hand. He actually waits for me in the front of his cage
He always eats about 5-6 crickets, then he decides he's had enough. About an hour or two later, I repeat the process and he eats about 5-6 more crickets. He's like having another baby, the best and coolest baby I can have at 18
Color wise, he's starting to show some green. He shed last week, took him about 2 days to completely shed out. I attached some pics, but the color doesn't show. He's starting to green out on the sides of his face and around the top of his back. One thing I've noticed is occasionally he turns a chocolate brown when he sunbathes, then he goes to his regular tan color when I start misting and feeding...anyone know why? Oh and he still has a little bit of skin left over from his shedding on one toe and a bit of his face.
He's a great little cham, can't wait till he's fully colored!
