Yeah, I saw that.... I literally bought one of the 60x27 ones 3 weeks ago, just got it a week ago.... Bummer. I need to call them and do some sweet talking for a second one. Might I highly recommend the Kane heat mats.... They're tough.

Yes i use plastic bins for my roaches. I ordered two of the flukers jumbo heat pads because theyll fit under the bins perfectly.

tyler, those kane pads look pretty intense.

They're really nice... It's about 1" thick or a little more, and came as a massive sheet (not folded up). It makes no heat on the bottom of it, so all your wattage is aimed up, at the animals where you want it. I put it in one of my outdoor winter tortoise houses and keeps it toasty in there. Shipping was a little high ($39), but they don't bend or anything, so they're nice for heavy traffic (in my case, 60-100lb tortoises). If I was using it for a roach bin, I would have gotten something cheaper, or just the 11" heat tape is what I used to use.

I know a lot of other heating mats are not safe for plastic bins, but I really couldn't find anything saying either way for the Flukers Mats. Have you used them in the past?

ive never tried the flukers ones before so hopefully they dont get as hot as the zoo med ones ive used. The pads i have now are small and get really hot so i layer a towel underneath them. The flukers pads say they run at 100f so i would imagine by the time they absorb through the plastic bin it'll be around 90ish.

I got mine at www.BeanFarm.com, 11" wide.... Almost any heat mat would probably be a little better, softer heat source, I just had the heat tape so I used it. It can get a little too hot, so you just need to keep an eye on it. I know a snake guy who had his heat tape dry out (after a few years) and it literally started on fire. Just gotta keep an eye on it.

The thought of that scares me considering the cham rooms are in the smack dab middle at the very bottom of the house, if that room ever caught fire, this house is done. Ive got a buddy who is buying some heat tape for some custom snake racks hes making but i just wanted something clean looking without clips and thermostat to keep it from getting 23180021 degrees. Hopefully the flukers matts stay at the temps they say they will. Heat tape would be something id look into if i had tons of stuff to heat up, but i just wanna slap these things on and be done with it so i don't mind spending the extra bucks. Thanks for the input guys.
