Average Male Panther weight?

Hi all!

My male panther Lenny got weighed today as I had a concern he could be underweight due to his fussy eating habits. He will only eat 2 or 3 extra lasts locusts but that's another issue im trying to work with him on 😅

I weighed him today, he is 230 grams, I'm just looking for some advice? Ive done some research and this is a healthy weight I think? I'm just trying to make sure he is a healthy amount so if you could share the weight of your male panthers that would be helpful :)

What is your cham's total length tip of nose to end of tail or tip of nose to his vent? How old is he? and can you please post some pics so we can make sure he is muscular and not holding fat?

There is no one sized fits all approach to them. It is going to depend a lot on genetics, total body length, overall health, muscle tone.

For example a male Veiled that is 15 inches total length would sit right around the 125grams to be in the healthy muscular range. Once one of the same size gets an additional 20 grams on it then you start seeing the excess fat storage in the casque and the cheeks. But a male Veiled that is say 17 inches total length would be sitting too thin at 125 grams and be healthier at 145-150 grams.

230 grams is hefty for weight so if he is does not have significant length then more then likely he is holding too much weight. Which we can tell with pics of his overall body and face with casque.

This is Lenny, I don't think he's overweight as I actually think length wise he's quite small for a panther. I did re weigh him to make sure and once again it said 230 grams. But here is a recent picture of him, he's lost a lot of his colour lately and has turned quite drab. He doesn't poop very often at all but when he does it's huge. When he next poops I will weigh him to see if that is adding to it. He is 19 months.

Could you take a few pics up close of his casque and face for me. He is a bit thicker through the limbs. Normally you would want to see more muscular tone.

If he is passing massive fecal make sure your hydration is on point. Otherwise you can end up dealing with a prolapse.
