Happy Couple

Here is a really good pic of Lucy VERY receptive. This is my girl that is always green. Never has any coloration - except for now. They are together in her cage and seem to be very happy. They spent about 2 hours this afternoon with their tails entwined. LOL

Who says there isn't feelings amongst chameleons. Just wait until one of the other girls become receptive, then Arnie will show his true colors I'm afraid, and be a cad..... Go figure.

Awesome Congrats! From what I can tell in the pic it looks like she is ready to come out...The Pattern she is showing looks like the Gravid coloration, and mine always hang on the door like that when they have had enough of their boys. Arnie looks like a happy guy!!! Somebody get that guy a smoke!:Djk

Yep, right after the pic she gaped, so I took Arnie out. He didn't protest so I guess he knew his time is up. I am starting to count my days from the first meeting. 20 days I will put her test box in her cage so she can practice digging. Then, when she paces and loses her appetite I will put her in the egg laying bucket.

If you can offer any other suggestions for my first clutch I would appreciate it. I will be picking up some vermiculite about then also.

Only thing I might suggest would be giving her a bin sooner...My Veiled girl ended up laying on day 20. Just in case she needs to lay early like my girl did.:) Good Luck.

Congrats Jann!!!!!! Just remember the valium when they start hatching LOL. I have over 30 panther youngsters right now and it is WORK but fun work. On a more serious note, I dont know how big her cage is but if possible I would try to keep the laying bin inside the cage instead of taking her out when you think she is ready. I know yours is veiled and I have panthers but sometimes the signs are really subtle especially with the retained clutches that come after. I know seperate containers work for lots of people but here is what I do. I have a regular size trash can which is plastic:rolleyes: I cut it down to be 12 to 13 inches high. I put my sand/topsoil mix in up to 11 inches give or take. This way she can pile the dirt and it doesnt spill out. It takes around 1 litre of water to make it just perfect for a tunnel. Keeping it in the enclosure I would think would make them feel more at home. Again this is what I do and just another option to think about.

Best of luck!!!!!!!

I would have to remove some of her greenery/branches. I have a small trash can I have prepared and it would take up a lot of room. What do you think? I will install places to dig soon, as soon as I get my play sand and dirt.

I think you will be just fine however you decide to do it;) I had the same problem with the vines and plants. I transfered my female to a bird type cage and made it so the vines dont go clear to the ground and have a huge pothos at the top. The cage is 2x2x4 feet. It slips right down over the trash can. The first time I had to put it in the screen cage it was a pain in my butt so I decided to find an easier way for when she needs it. I would say whatever works for her and is convenient for you would be the best.

I will certainly follow suggestions of putting a pot in her cage earlier than I had expected. By them I may be able to cobble up something better.
