Yup looks Nosy Be to me. The first photo is female Nosy Be she looks gravid too
Hard to tell if her belly is round from the photo but the black stripes are there.

What Olimpia is meaning is ; While it is listed as a Nosy Be, no one can tell for certain what locale a female panther is without knowing lineage. Just because it's listed as one doesn't mean it is, especially if the seller is unsure of lineage. It could be an ambilobe, mix or whatever else.

Females don't "look" a certain locale.

In the past we have had some problems with overzealous members giving advice to new owners about their CB Veiled Chameleon when in fact it was a near deaths door WC Flapneck Chameleon. If people can’t make that simple ID then the new owner and more importantly the animal suffers because of improper husbandry advice and misinformation.

This is the reason we require reasons to back up your conclusion in this forum. We don’t want simply that is a Flapneck Chameleon but reasons why it is like ear flaps or scalation or spurs or whatever.

Initially this particular category was set up so people could get positive ID’s on the species of their chameleons only and locality and sexing questions were left in the General Discussion but we have become more lax about that. So to stop the confusion about the confidence and burden of proof should we go back to having this a specific ID category only?

Like someone else mentioned, all panther females essentially look the same. I could post photos of my females, who were all multi-locale mixes, and they'd look exactly the same as any other female. That's why people get so nervous about locale crosses or imported WC females, for example, because it's so easy to lie about what they are and sell them as something else for top dollar.

Unless you prove out a female through breeding, you can't know for sure what you have if you didn't get a guaranteed pedigree from the breeder.

I actually really like having ALL ID questions in one section. I think it makes the most sense. Identifying the sex of your chameleon can be just as vital as knowing the species, especially if you have a female and weren't expecting it. Locale questions aren't life-threatening or anything but should probably still be answered by people with more experience.

I agree some lie to get a better price. How sad. I believe in keeping the locales as pure as we can.
I do disagree however, my females all clearly look different.

My Nosy Be looks, Nosy Be. She has blue in her not as much a male of course but decidedly blue. Not at all like my Ambilobe females

I am diligent at getting the lineage on all my animals ( that means sire and dam ) both males and females or I just don't buy.
