Are Dubia's ok as a staple for Veiled chameleons instead of crickets?

Hello! I am getting a veiled chameleon and wanted to know if it is ok to have dubia's as a staple in his diet instead of constant crickets? And they will be gutloaded of course. I also understand that they need a varied diet of insects...do I need to gutload each insect type? Any foods you would reccomend to do this? Also what different types of insects should I feed him? (I just want to do what is best, of course, but would rather not have to get crickets all the time, because they are loud and smelly)

Dubia will be fine IF your chameleon likes them. My male veiled doesn't care for them. He's a cricket man. :) I gutload all my insects except for silkworms and hornworms. You need to gutload with fresh fruits and veggies like kale, collard greens, butternut squash, carrot and a good dry gutload such as cricket crack. I'd recommend keeping at least 3 different kinds of insects on hand at all times. You can buy Cricket Crack here:

I stay away from a "staple" as variety really is best. I dont have any that refuse crickets because they are somewhat like a treat to them!

dubias are hard to keep because the are good hiders and if you cup feed the dont move around alot, but what psh said always rotate your feeders.
