Apartments and Chameleons...

If the rental market is good from a tenant perspective, meaning lots of vacancies, its likely worth the risk of not mentioning it. Because if the landlord gets upset, you'll find another place quickly.
If you lived where I live, with a close to .5% vacancy rate, you'd pay the extra and not risk getting kicked out - too hard to find a decent place to live. That said, I pretended my first chameleon didnt exist too, back in the day of being a renter.
would you really be kicked out though, or just asked to pay the extra monthly? My complex doesnt really care, so my circumstances may be different... i suppose it all depends on the situation. I dont see them kicking me out over caged reptiles, the only harm i see coming from them is at the worst is 2-3 gallons of water overflowing(if a hose popped off the mister) or a bunch of loose crickets(like if an earthquake knocked over the cricket cage and the lid flew off), besides that they need my money right now... just my thoughts:D
