Well guys, I said I was going to wait a few years until I got a new chameleon, but I gave in. I was at a yard sale and someone was selling an enclosure fit for a chameleon for $10 and I bought it. Being given a RES made me realize how much I missed owning reptiles, or even thinking about new reptiles, and seeing that enclosure made me remember how much I wanted a new chameleon. I am between getting a Kenyan Pygmy or a Madagascar Pygmy. I have some questions, and hopefully you guys can answer them.
1. Do any of you guys already have your own care sheets for these guys, if so, please link me and ignore the following questions.
2. Which is more friendly and easy to take care of? Not that I mind a task, I'm just trying to pick the lesser of two evils.
3. What is the optimal mister that I would purchase?
4. Is there anything I should know about these when making my decision?
5. Best lights to purchase?
6. What is the minimum and maximum size enclosure I should put them in?
7. Optimal diet?
8. Distance from basking spot to light?
9. Temps for basking spot, rest of tank besides basking spot, and night temp.
10. Rules for housing with another cham, or to be avoided?
11. If there is anything else crucial I missed, what is it?
I hate to seem uneducated, but frankly I trust you guys more than some random internet care sheet. I am asking all the questions I have seen previous answers for. It is quite unfortunate that I do not know what the two bulbs the enclosure came with are, as I cannot use them if I don't know what they are. I am pretty positive one is a ceramic heater, but totally clueless about the other. Thanks so much!
