Another freakin lighting Q

God I must be annoying. I've started around 15 threads and don't even have my cham yet!

Anywho, I actually found a T5HO fixture I had laying around from one of my saltwater tanks that I thought I sold. However, its major overkill and is a 30" 4 bulb fixture. My question is, can they have too much artificial UVB? I fixgured since I have the sockets I might as well use them and get two UVB bulbs and two plant bulbs (as well as a dome basking light). As of right now it'll go on a 24x2x48 cage, but I may custom build one instead. Is there a problem with this, and can anyone offer up any suggestions?

This is the fixture in question. Mine is a Current USA, but its a few years old and they don't make the 30" model anymore, but its exactly the same.

I know some forum members use a 4 bulb fixture... I would suggest just one of the bulbs should be a 6% Arcadia and the others varying light temperatures for plant growth (5000k, 6500k, soft red bulb).

I assume you will get a juvi cham, and their eyes can be sensitive to too much UVB and even too much light.

I would not use two UVB bulbs (at least for a very young cham) but you could definitely use a quad fixture! Here's a look at my lighting blog. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/decadancin/754-winter-lighting-schedule.html It shows how mine is set up and what kind of schedule I'm using. I will be posting a spring schedule soon. I use one Arcadia 6% T5 HO with two 6500k and one plant pro. Great lighting and really shows the enclosure off! Hope this gives you some ideas!

By the time I get him my cham will be 6 months old.

Does arcadia also sell the different kelvin rating plant bulbs? I don't even know where to look...

Haha I can sort of mimic your light schedual! The fixture runs off of one plug, but has two built in timers and a LED "moon light". Only thing that sucks is that the LEDs don't have a timer, just the bulbs. Each has its own switch though, so I can just turn the LEDs off so its 100% dark at night.

And the bulb size I need isn't listed on that website. The fixture itself is exactly 30" long, and I think the bulbs are like...26" or something. I have to go home and check this weekend, I'm at school right now. I will email Todd to see what he recommends though.
