Madagascar had been planning this area "Ankeniheny-Zahamena corridor" for conservation for a long while and it seems to been officially recognize by the Malagasy government. It is the islands largest officially conserved wildlife area. Recently sapphires have been found in this conservation area and illegal gemstone mining has become a serious problem.

>Creates Animal reserve
>discover sapphires & other gems
>Illegal miners

That is something of an accurate description. It is more than an animal preserve. It is a extremely diverse and unique forest preserve that happens to have many plants and animals found no where else including many chameleons.

D: thats awfull poor lemurs and endangered stuff

For this forums it would be more accurate to say awe poor Parsonii Cristifer, Calumma cucullatum and other chameleons. Madagascar really is a biologist paradise. Even non biologist remark how amazing some of the species that are found there are. Which is one big reason Madagascar got named a world heritage site.
