I'm going the this exhibit tomorrow! Soooo excited, I've always been a fan of anatomy & this matches my studies perfectly. I went to a human based exhibit by the same person about 4 years ago, I'll never forget it! I just love the variety of body forms in nature, I'm particularly excited to see an octupus specimen. The preservation technique also fascinates me.

All specimens are donated, if you google, the details are available :)

lol meatball ;)

Yea, it was stunning! The elephant specimen was extremely impressive, mostly due to the sheer size of them. They have huge brains.

The octopus & squid specimens cool too. Pretty much the only intellegent group of animals in their phylum

I've seen this exhibition two times in Germany the last years. Really amazing, especially the pure vessel preparations (the shark's great). Fantastic idea to mask the metal frame which carries the whole elephant as vessels. And great work, of course... I just would encourage everyone keeping pets to go there and learn about animals "inside out".

The only thing to grouch about would be some preparature legends... I found faults, a liver was mentioned as lung :D. And unfortunately they had no audio guides available for people not working with animals every day.

I was amazed by the capillary work & how dense our capillaries are, the horse head showed this particularly well, it was solid with vessels. To know that these vessels have to supply every body cell & to see it are 2 different things. It makes what you read in a text books real

The other thing I found fascinating is that, in terms of anatomy, sheep & goats are the same, with the only difference being the angle at which they can hold their tails. Yet from the outside, we can tell the difference fairly easily
