I feel sorry for everyone with daughters, granddaughters who want American Girl Dolls and accessories! I just dropped $300 for my lil princess! Merry Christmas to her! :D

I guess nobody feels my pain on this? I said that I coulda gotten a nice Cham for this kinda $$!

Just checked them out. Hope they don't come to the uk. I've already been hit by Lelli Kelly's. I have 4 granddaughters.:)

Lucky little miss!! My daddy never dropped 300 like that lol

My Daddy once dropped $300, but he was able to pick it back up before I could get there to grab it :p:D:p

but seriously, I am SOOOOOO glad my daughter is not into them any more- she just HAD to have the one in the wheelchair - but hey- its Christmas , and its all about the little ones and making them happy :D

Trust me, it hurt, but all in the name of love! I spoil her @ Christmas and on her birfday. I had better start saving up because we're gonna have her party at the American Girl bistro in March!

That's so awesome! I was concerned with how long this phased lasted with these young girls. We talked to a couple of ladies in line and they stated that each of their daughters had dolls for 3-4 yrs and they were going on 10 and 11 years old. I felt better after hearing this... Lol!

I have twin girls who both LOVE American Girl. Plus, this year, they both decided that they just *had* to have the gymnastic doll that is the 'Doll of the Year' and will only be available until the end of the year. Have you seen how much her balance beam and all of that extra stuff costs!?! It's CRAZY!!

But...there is nothing like little girls and there is nothing in the world that I wouldn't do to make them happy! Your daughter will be thrilled on Christmas....American Girl and a new tab!?! Lucky!!!

They are expensive but worth it because of the message they send.

All the American Girl books (which come with each doll) focus on building self-esteem and making good choices. And they are all dressed appropriately, which is very unlike many dolls. Barbie focuses on how little girls think they want to look and the things they should have. American Girl focuses on just the opposite.

It won't last forever. I teach fourth grade and most of my students are getting over the phase. But they will keep the dolls forever, and pass them to their daughters. So look at it as an investment in your daughter's moral development! :D

I'm in 100% agreement with what you said. The message and story of each girl is great!

The accessories are where they get you! Especially at the store. You can't walk 2 feet without picking something else up and placing it in your bag. But it was a great experience and I can't wait to see her face on Xmas morning! :)
