Amazon boxes

Someone just alerted me to this on Facebook and I’m wondering if anyone knows about it. Not worried for my old lazy cats…they aren’t into playing in boxes. However, I do repurpose some Amazon boxes to transport my chameleons to the vet. Depending on which vet we go to, they can be in the box for anywhere from 1-3 hours.

Argh! I should have googled it before sharing. It is false according to Snopes. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/amazon-spray-boxes-chemicals/
Sorry!!! The kids and cats can keep their forts and my chams can keep their carrier boxes.
That's what I suspected reading the OP.

However .... https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterina...nd-import-samples-animal-food-and-animal-food

Now the question (in my mind) is:
Is it better to leave this thread up as-is and risk proliferation by googlers & those who don't read the whole thread who may think the OP is confirmation, just deleting the whole thing, or deleting it and posting another with the whole story in the OP? 🤷‍♂️
