It's time
I've decided to get Simba's adult cage next week. For his 5month hatch day
After selling my horse, I figure I have the money now, so I'm gonna get Simba his new pad.
46 x 46 x 92cm Reptibreeze Screen cage. Getting 3 new vines and will use the plants and vine/branches from his baby cage, as well as a new bigger Ficus I initially got to put him in when I do a thorough cage clean. I can see it being highly likely I'll also end up at the garden centre for a bigger schefflera and hibiscus too LOL I'm hoping I can sort drainage from the word go as I want to make sure he gets plenty of water in his bigger cage without it flooding the bottom. Still going to use the Habba mister, which is a glorified dripper anyway. And I don't mind hand misting so gonna keep that up. Means I can keep checking on his well being and will notice any signs of probs early on (fingers crossed their won't be any). I'm hoping to start handling him when he moves over to the big crib too. It'll make it easier to clean his cage and to get him used to me now he's getting bigger. Don't want him going from scaredy cat to big blue grump!!!! LOL Here's hoping LOL
Got some funny pics of him munching on his wax worms the other day....for my broadband to go and pack up so I couldn't post em
At my Mam's posting this, so hoping it will be fixed at home soon so I can get pics on.
Fruit flies are now too small for him so he's on well gut loaded locusts as a staple at the mo. He occasinally gets wax worms and butter worms and I'm going to start ordering silkworms for him again and alternate between those and the locusts as a staple.
Just remembered roaches too, I think I'll wait till he's bigger before I try superworms though.
So, a new bigger cage for Simba......meaning I still have a little baby cage.....which will be empty
