a few quick questions

So ive had my Ambilobe BB for about 3 weeks maybe? maybe like a month? but ive just got a couple things i would like feedback on.
1: is humidity/drinking. right now i don't really mist the cage much, i live in cali, and humidity is posted at like 15%, so its very hard for me to maintain 50% for even a few minutes. so i make sure he drinks, because he doesn't drink from wet leaves or a dripper, at all. his instincts are kinda dull. so i spray water on his mouth and he laps it up, i usually do this for about 5 minutes. i was just wondering if humidity is really that important if he is getting enough water.
2: is eating. i have pretty large crickets atm, and superworms that i am feeding him, and to be honest they are too big, but i cant really help it because i bought 500 of the stupid crickets. ANYway he only eats an average of 1.5 crickets a day. he poops pretty large poops. but i was just wondering if thats ok also, for the future i will buy smaller crickets. im just scared hes not eating enough because i want him to grow as big as possible.
3: last but not least i was wondering whats the fastest way to tame them. i know they will never be dogs but lots of people ive read, get their chameleons to ask to get out of their cage. ive been trying to feed him outside of his cage, but he really will not even think about eating once i take him or even touch him inside his cage. i handle him quite a bit, at least once a day, he doesn't hiss but every once in a while, and when he does i leave him alone.

im no chameleon pro but humidity is very important. theres a ton of reasons why but ill just keep it to the point lol, its very important. i live in NM and humidity is tricky for me too. i got a painters tarp from lowes and wrapped my cages, that and the live plants, its always humid, you could try that

proper sized food is a must. hes probably full, tiny lizard, super tiny stomach. i have a female about 3 months and she eats less crickets than before but her food size increased so its cool shes still growing super good (correct me if im wrong) so dont sweat it if hes not eating as much when hes eating larger food items but get some smalerl food

time i would say and you said you've had him about a month if that, hes probably still adjusting and some are super chill and some arent

So I bought the 500 crickets not realizing that the online medium was much bigger than the pet store medium, well if they are too big they are too big, I sucked it up, and pretty much euthanized them after trying to give them away to everyone I knew with reptiles....I wouldn't risk the health of my valuable cham for $25 worth of crickets.

1.5 crickets is not enough per day. You need to get smaller crickets. Do you use supplements? If so what brand/type? Humidity is very important as previously stated, but having your cage dry out between mistings is also critical. If you cannot mist more a misting system is probably needed. Can you post some pics of your Cham and setup?

that's true, thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to tape surround wrap to the sides to keep humidity in.

yea saran wrap is thin, i got a 12 foot by 9 foot heavy duty plastic sheet.. same thing painters use to cover walls for like 3 bucks at lowes...im sure home depot or any hardware store has them to

Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a wide roll of thick clear plastic
sheeting.

Simply cut to size, and tape the edges with duct tape :D
