If they are a year old, you can be sure they are sexually mature. They area actually sexually mature well before this, but its just not a good idea in most cases to breed before they are a full year and full grown.

Babies can be housed together until they are about two months old. After that, you start separating them. For most commonly kept species, You can not house them together.
