6500k bulb

Been thinking of getting 1 of these bulbs for my plants nd wondered if the spiral low energy 1s did the same job????

They do with a good reflector, but 15 watts isnt going to do much for plants. To grow plants you going to need a min 50 watts per 2ft.

So 6 ft cage= 150w???

Just get a Linear tube lamp. Unless your cage is small, I wouldn't bother with CFL. I use the same size 6500K lamp as my UVB and use dual lamp fixtures so they are side by side. It is enough light to keep your plants happy. But you will need more lighting if you try to keep plants that need lots of light. For ficus, pothos and scheflera, a 24" or 48" linear 6500K lamp will do just fine.
