5000k=5.0 UVB??

The lights I use for photography are 5200k because it is the closest to natural sunlight but not sure how much if any UVB/UVA they put out but they do light up well.

Keep in mind that at bulb with a 5000k rating that is not specifically a UVB bulb will not give off UVB. K is the abbreviation for Kelvin and it is a number used for the color temperature of the light being produced and not the actual spectrum of light that comes out of the bulb. UVA and UVB spectrums are not visible to the naked eye and while they correlate to different K ratings a bulb with a 5000K rating can produce none of the needed spectrums for healthy reptiles.

You can certainly use a 5000K light to help brighten the enclosure but if it is not specifically designed to emit UVB then it will do nothing for the health of the inhabitant. It will also provide no detrimental effect and I use a 6500K bulb in conjuction with the 5.0 reptisun to brighten the cage and allow for greater health of my plants.
