What kind of Chameleon? I breed Veiled chameleons and I don’t use an incubator. I hear lots of stories of incubators that malfunction and kill all the eggs.

My Veiled Chameleons eggs take about 10 months to hatch without using an incubator. I hear that eggs in an incubator will hatch sooner.... but I’m fine waiting the extra time and avoiding the hassle of dealing with an incubator.

Veiled chameleons, we were told we needed an incubator for humidity. We live in Las Vegas, maybe because of the dry weather here.
we are learning, we appreciate any help.

I don’t use incubator. I use Hatchrite as egg substrate. I keep in closed Tupperware container. A slight amount of condensation should be visible inside container. Open container once every two weeks for a minute for air exchange. If after several months you don’t see condensation, add a teaspoon of water to substrate. Wait ten months and “Voila”... babies.

Reptile shop told us about the incubator, probably because Las Vegas weather is dry.

The dryness outside the container you are incubating the eggs in shouldn't matter....the container should have a lid on it which makes it its owns environment. The humidity should stay pretty constant inside the container and you should see beads of condensation on the inside of the container. If the humidity inside the container does drop a bit just add a bit of water in it around the edges...but don't get it on the eggs.
