All 40 of them made it to week 3!!! They are all still healthy and are eating great. The reptile show couldn't come sooner. I need to get another 5000 crickets. This saturday they weighed in at an average of 1.7 grams. I am having the best time watching these guys grow. They are so fun to raise, I am very happy with the success I am having with them.

Average of 12 randomly selected.
Week 1: 1 gram
Week 2: 1.4 grams
Week 3: 1.7 grams

Can you see the casque growing in?

These guys are amazing.

This guy is different than the others, he is always a little pinkish red rather than green. When he is in his cage he is always a little more red, but when I took him out to take a pic he lightened up.

They are too cute. I look forward to our first clutch of hatchlings. Should be in another month or so.

Are you using (or, did you use) any fruit flies for feeders? If so, what type, the Melanogastor or hydei? I just purchased fruit fly cultures (M. and H.) to build up our supply and prepare for hatchlings, but, since these will be our first hatchlings (should all go well) I don't really know which type, or how many 32oz cultures we will need.

What size crickets are your guys eating now?

I never fed them fruitflys. They started eating on the third day, I offered pinhead crickets for the first day or two. That was a waste of money for me. By the third day they were eating they were eating 1/4" crickets. This is what they are eating today as well. For me the 1/4 inch crickets were perfect size for them. From my experience I would recommend feeding them 1/8-1/4" crickets right away. When I ordered my pinheads they threw in a free container of fruit flies (melanogastor). These were way to small in my opinion.

Great job!!!! They are so cute! I would fall in love with every single one of them and not be able to part with them!

Yeah I don't want to have to find new homes. I wish I cold keep them all and raise them up to adults.

anyone have anything to say about that red one. Do you think he will stay red or lose that color. It doesn't look that red in the pic but when he is in his cage he looks a lot different. I never see him green like all the others. I know he is healthy he weighed 1.8 grams saturday and I get to see him eat sometimes.
