Cute looking little fella! Take care of him and enjoy the drastic, yet magnificent changes he will undergo within the next few months. :D

Hi, Our very first chameleon was handled quite frequently.
The effect that it had was, he had little to no interest in the females for some reason. So if you want to breed him I wouldn't handle him for a while.

thanks alot. I am going to give him a few weeks of getting use to his cage and seeing me around the cage before I start to handle him and when i do i think it will be only once or twice a week. Can you see the little green spots on his neck already? I cant wait till he starts getting more colors in. Especially after seeing his dad and grandpa. they are something. How long does it take till u start seeing alot of colors? Thanks again

Based on my experience with my panthers, the males tend to start "coloring up" around the cheeks, and then working their way back. This is strictly based on my Nosey and my Ambilobe. As for how long the "coloring-up" process will take, that differs in each individual chameleon- some "color-up" faster then others. As for my Blue-bar, he started turning green around 2.5 months, obtained his blue bars around 3.5 months, and started getting red facial markings at around 4.5 months. This is strictly based on my own experience and should only be considered as a rough estimate. Part of the charm of owning a baby panther is the thrill and excitement you will go through over the next 6 or so months, as you wait to see how his colors will develop. Regardless if he is a late bloomer or not, love him for what he is. :)
