2-3 month panther injured leg

I have a male who i have had for about 2 weeks. I have a larger female in the same cage but they are divided. There was a crack in between the divider and the female took a bite of the males foot. Long story short the males leg turned black and had very limited use of his foot. At first i thought it was just sprained maybe a minor break so i just was putting hydrogen peroxide on it. But after about three days the leg has gotten swollen, still is not grasping branches with his foot, the leg is is still dark and all of a sudden there looks to be a small tear in the skin that may or may have not been there in the first place. he is also acting a little strange which i think might just be from stress or maybe he has a infection? I have since this morning soaked him in diluted providone-iodine (sp?) twice and have put polysporin on it. I have a vet appt on friday, but am concerned that after the 55$ charge just to look at him they are going to charge me a ridiculous amount for something i can do at home. From what i have written can anyone give me some advice. Thanks in advance PS he has also not eaten since the bite i think

Unfortunately the vet visit is a necessity and anyone on here will tell you to keep the appointment. It sounds like an infection and it can be life threatening. Only a vet can give you the right antibiotics for him. Good luck and I hope your Cham pulls through
