1 month old Jacksons, one needs foot removed..

One of my 9, newborn jacksons has messed up toes that are turning dark and he doesn't like to use that foot. He is super healthy otherwise and eats, uses his other three perfectly.


Now my question, can I just snip it off with super sharp surgical sheers or should I pinch it off like a dew claw?

I'm trauma medical professional so I have all the tools.

I was going to sterilize, pinch it with hemostats, then snip it off with big scissors... use baking powder as clot.

Thoughts?
 
I think that if you attempt this without a vet, or any sort of anesthesia/pain management that you will be at risk of a charge of animal cruelty. Professional or not this is best left to a vet to take care of.
 
What's the hurry? If it's just the toes why would you want to cut off the entire foot? Sometimes if a body part of a cham gets injured it turns dark, this doesn't mean it won't heal over time. If the toes are truly necrotic then they will eventually fall off themselves at exactly the right point. No need to cut off live tissue. Maybe apply some Betadine to the affected area to prevent infection. I would wait to see what happens. Just my opinion!
