There was lovely mellers in a pet shop near me aswell, I walked in there one day and it was free ranging on a wire right infront of me. watched him go round and snag a juicy fly from the ceiling. The guy in the shop said he was a juvinile but he was already huge!
I heard it was to keep an eye on a certain bloodline of ambilobes which was imported and named by somebody, not necessarily to "market" them to sell more.
My one goes lighter outside of his viv, i put him on a hibicus in the bath to give him a really good spray and we went almost white. I though it must have something to do with my bathroom being all white? he didnt seem at all unhappy either. Socs is coming along really nicely mate, ill have to...
i bought a huge ficus from homebase few weeks back, half price but was still twenty something quid. Had to chop half of it down to fit in my viv anyway. Bloomin senseless!
hi mark, hes a little dude! Good colour already. Did you get him from lillyexotics? If so i have one of what is supposed to be his brothers. When i cleaned mine out yesterday he fired up lovely bluey green. Im a bit confused after seeing socs, starting to think i might have got one of nicks...
for colouration its gotta be panthers (slightly bias as iv just got a baby ambilobe), but i have grown really fond of parsonii or the elephant of the tree as iv heard them called. Hopefully with a bit more experience and alot more cash i will get one, or two.:)
i have been thinking the same thing, but to use a 10.0 inside the enclosure. The 10.0 penetrates up to 24in where as the 5.0 is only 12in, the readings are always less than the tube states which inturn is nothing compared to say the madigascan sun (if you have a madagascan cham of course). my...
every cham is different but you could expect to see basic colouration from 4 months or so and start to get pretty vivid by 6+. There is an awsome video on the screameleons youtube channel of the developing colours of an ambilobe month by month. The cham on the vid is outstanding tho so dont be...
firstly, i am definately no expert but from what iv read so far it seems fairly normal for shedding chams to gape to stretch the loose shed off. Im really interested to know how you got the mesh door in. Id quite like to give it a go on the exo for my new baby im waiting for.
I have a deposit on one of them aswell. Cant wait, not long now!! i am also new to keeping chams, it would be cool to get some viv ideas from each other.
