Getting a Cham soon, what supplies and brands should I use?

Welcome, and good job doing the research first! Dubia.com has all of those shipped to you and they have decent pricing. Beats anything I can find locally and shipping cost is about the same as anything close enough for me to drive to with gas and time. Dubias make a good staple, Hornworms, if...

    Water

Haha, I’ll see if I can get it cleaned up and post updated pictures in the next few weeks between my two summer classes that I’m taking. Might give you a better idea. If you do end up getting one and need any help, let me know!

    Water

I have it plumbed directly into the sink waterline using a brass T fitting. But with no DIY knowledge, the sink fitting is probably the easiest. So the it goes through a series of filters. For RO it goes through a 5 micron felt filter, a carbon filter, then the 2 RO membranes then to the white...

Plus if you ever have a chance to start a reef tank, you just need to get a DI unit to add on to the RO 🙂 Main tank and temporary quarantine tank for incoming corals. I’m starting up a reefing club for the middle school so I will have another shallower tank for coral grow-out.

Wow, the cost of the filters must have added up on that! They make a faucet adapter for the 1/4 in line needed for the RO unit. The RO membrane needs to be replace every couple years and the pre fillers every 3-6 months depending on how much you use it. Definitely save money pretty quickly.

Here is my set up and one of my misting buckets. In the pick I’m running rodi for the reef tank. But there is a second output just after the RO filter part that I use for the the reptiles. Please excuse any mess you might see, my classroom is in summer chaos mode. Building shelves in my closet...

    Water

If you’re using a misting system, most do better with RO water. You won’t have the mineral build up that clogs the nozzles. I would get a good one that’s easy to maintain. The cheap ones tend to be more expensive in the long run. Something like this...

New panther addition to my classroom!

Thanks to @ChameleonGuy686, I was able to get a new male panther chameleon! He was super easy to work with and very helpful. Sent payment and he was in the mail the next week to avoid any shipment issues. He seems to be very healthy and was eating within 5 minutes of being in his new enclosure...

    Dripper, Mister & Fogger Questions

I can’t speak to the mister and fogger, but I love my mist kings! You can use whatever size reservoir you want with them, I use 2-5 gallon buckets. You set what time you want the mister to turn on and how long you want it to go. You do have to use distilled or RO water. I’m also curious to...

Spruced up the outdoor enclosures for summer!

Oh cool, I really like the idea of having a summer outdoor house for a chameleon. My only concern would be the bioactive set up.

    Bonsai trees

I haven't had much of an issue with pests in the Cham enclosure thankfully. I had mealy worms in a few of my crested gecko tanks though. They really liked the pothos.

    Bonsai trees

I have an umbrella plant in my enclosure. It is bonsai-ish, lol. It does very well and has grown a lot since going in 3 years ago when my chameleon was donated to my classroom because the owner couldn't keep her. 3 years ago: Today: On a side note, anyone know how to keep pictures from...
