Guys, today I found spyros old thermometer. Under his basking lamp it was around 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Is that too much or do I need to lower it..?
So I was thinking of adding a thick stick in the corner of Spyro’s cage. I was wondering if one of these plant supports could work I’ll attach photos. This is his cage so far, if I was going to add one, where should I?
Hi, I don’t know if I am the type of expert or person to answer these things, but yeah. I’ve been trying to hand feed my Cham and these are some tips for hand feeding. He’s starting to warm up and take food while I’m looking at him. I’m not sure if they’re included in the guide somebody sent...
I know this seems kinda Uhmm… but I don’t have a thermometer. I don’t really want to share this personal stuff online, but I’m not the one buying everything so. You can sort of guess what it is. If it makes sense.
But no, he was only gaping that one time under his basking light. I’ve never...
I’m not sure how I would be able to make the basking light and UVB together. But I think before the basking light may have been too close because I used a tape measure and it was like 9 inches away from the branch. I also live in a state where it’s hot and humid, so I didn’t want it too close. I...
This is Spyro my 10-12 month old Male veiled chameleon. Around a week ago, I saw him gaping underneath his basking light. I for some reason immediately panicked and moved it down more. His basking light is 75w.
Now, I’m most concerned with the UVB lamp being too close. I placed one fake...
Hi everybody, this is kinda late but, today, Spyro took silkworms out of my hands while I was looking at him directly! I’m really happy because at first he was too scared to even see my body if I hand fed him. I’ve also been trying out a feeder cup ( a McDonald’s drink cup ) and he’s also been...
Thanks everybody for responding, I tried again today with a hornworm but Spyro ran away from me :( I’ll try again tomorrow I also watch chameleon academy’s hand feeding video and I’ll also try some things he does.
So yesterday, Spyro ( my 10-12 month old male veiled chameleon ) finally took 4 hornworms from my hand. He was hiding behind a plant, and he couldn’t see my face. Today when I tried again, he could see my face. I tried for about 10 minutes but he didn’t take it and kept just staring at me. Any...
Oh, my Cham doesn’t usually eat leaves. I’ve only noticed like little nibbles in a tree when I ran out of food for him for 2 days.
Today I’m going to Petco to get these
Okay so basically I have this like green wire I use to attach like everything. Did
you just like use zip ties or something like that and just tie it around the pot and on the screen? If so, I may try that.
Aww your Cham is so cute! I’m like freaking out right now because Spyro took hornworms from my hand for the first time. He took 4. But, I’m not 100% sure I’ll get rid of it yet. I’m just not sure how I’ll hang the spider plant or pothos there. Maybe I’ll switch it if I can figure out how...
Okay so, about the fake plant, it’s like my chameleons favorite spot to hide. I don’t know if I took it out it would stress him out of something. I haven’t seen him try to eat it yet, but after you talked about it, I may try to monitor him with it more.
Also thanks for the name compliment lol...
Hi, so basically the window his cage is at isn’t a bay window it’s just a bigger one. It has 2 layers, the layer on the outside ( 1st layer ) is screen. The second layer is glass. And yes, my window can open. But, it does not get much sunlight so I don’t really think it would be too hot?
Today...
lol yeah it is quite big. I kinda had a hard time hanging it in his cage. The air plant also has some cute little flowers blooming. When I put it in there I found Spyro in it he was just hiding/ climbing in it. Got the air plant for $42
