Need advice: what else should I ask vet to check

I'll see if I can get a snapshot or two when I'm not handling her tomorrow. She gets all offended and turns into a green football when I'm holding her. And you may be right, she may just need to hunger strike a bit. Tonight is the first time I KNOW she's eaten in a week. Her eyes are starting to...

Need advice: what else should I ask vet to check

She was fecal tested 2 months ago. (She made it easy though by having a worm hanging out her bum.) That is part of the plan, which is why I'm annoyed I couldn't find the poo after she "deflated." We want to recheck. I managed to get some food in her tonight when I got home and will try again...

Need advice: what else should I ask vet to check

Ok, gonna do this proper this time. Your Chameleon - Jackson, F, WC, est. 2yrs old, have had her 1.5 yrs. Handling - once or twice a week for sunshine time. She doesn't gape at me anymore. Feeding - crickets, roaches, horn worms. She won't eat mealworms, superworms, or black soldierfly larvae...

Need help trouble shooting- 2 Jackson's

I'm not keen on it either but I have some left over from when Phin first lost his tongue. I found a great bug meal mix that I put in it that has all the right insects. Mixing the two, with extra calcium added, made a huge difference in Phin's recovery. It just has to sit and meld for a few...

Need help trouble shooting- 2 Jackson's

Ok, here's current pictures of my two referenced children. Phineas is overall doing better from his tongue issue. He has always had the "stressed, too little sleep" expression, but the bags are a bit deeper now. He reminds me of my German grandmother with his perpetually cranky expression...

Need help trouble shooting- 2 Jackson's

We're pretty dry. 9am and 38% outside and dropping. We're High desert and have been in fire season for almost 2 months now. I do have a computer fan resting on top of the cage to help encourage air flow. This cage really had fixed all the issues with heat and humidity I was having with her...

Good point. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I'll get some up here ASAP. At work and I've never thought to get a photo of them gaping. Derp.

Need help trouble shooting- 2 Jackson's

Two of my buddies are now having issues with their health and I'm struggling to determine what's the cause. I'm calling the vet but am hoping to brainstorm why my healthy chameleons have diminished suddenly over the last 6 months. My 2 other chams, another Jackson and a Panther, have been ok...

Tongue problem and Montana vet recommendations

Right at the tip. Yes, he is currently learning to hunt down insects and pick them up with his mouth. I am trying to find a feeder set up that will make it easier for him while he learns. I chill his bugs and hand feed him at this point. I think the full throttle-style feeder will be our end...

No, the blobby bit is gone. They amputated the whole thing to the hyoid bone. In fact, my current concern and focus of observation, is that, while the wound is healed up, his hyoid bone sticks out. I don't know what this is supposed to look like at this point. I am watching to see if that...

Tongue problem and Montana vet recommendations

Hey, following up on this, you're correct. He does have a bit of a "wobbly" lip line. I guess I've not really looked at that. I think it's residual of my force feeding. We had a very rough start of it because there's a lot of written description but not a lot of video or even photos that I...

I have, but he doesn't want them. Not even horn worms, which he used to love. I should try them again though. What do you mean by feeder run? I've not heard that phrase before.

No. It's just the angle. Good news, though! I got him to take 3 freshly dead crickets from me today. I have fat finger syndrome and tend to drop bugs, so between me and him sorting out how to grab them, we did a good job. Gold stars for both of us!

He could be doing a lot worse. Every 3-4 days, he gets supplemented wih his "soup" so his weight has been good. He even has started shedding recently. He just hasn't gotten himself coordinated between speed and grabbing with his mouth. I am not ready to give up on him.

Fruit flies would be too small, honestly. I have been using smaller crickets and roaches. He just can't seem to catch them yet. @jannb I'll get some currently photos tonight before his lights shut off.

Hey, gang. I'm back and looking for some more advice. 4 months in, and Phin is still not successful in catching food. His weight is ok as I am still supplementing him with Carnivore Care mixed with ground up bugs. I made him a feeder that is tube style with cups on the top and bottom to try and...

    Sanitizing enclosure plants for parasites

Same here on the spider mites. I have had minimal issues with them until this last year. Good idea on the rocks, though. It'll help with water retention, too.

Thank you all for the tips. I'm working on cleaning things up today with a side of plant shopping.
