See I found her at a very busy intersection and I searched for somewhere moderately safe to release her but I live in a very populated, slightly urban area so I was hesitant. That along with the abandoned tank and some odd ongoings I felt this might've been a case of abandonment. Im thinking she...
Wow thats crazy! Always a surprise to find out some critters can be found in your own back yard!. And speaking of surprises I've found someone that would love to take the little girl in:). She already has a few tortoises she's rescued from near death and abandonement situations as well as a few...
See I didn't know that! I was assumin she might be someones pet because I live in a pretty populated area. She was actually crossing the street when I found her.:o Im not sure where exactly I could release her, I'd put her back where I found her but theres nothing but busy streets and a stanky...
Thanks a ton syn I'll be sure to check them out. I've been making phone calls since I've found Her/him, might have one or two potential people that might rescue. :)
A little while ago I spotted what we though was a turtle about to cross the rode. Rushing over I picked it up thinking to put it back in the river the and realized it wasn't a turle at all but a tortoise. I live in northern jersey and dont exactly think this little guy/gal is common wildlife...
It might not be food intake, but dehydration. Are the urates a good color and shape? If not perhaps consider using a "jucier" diet for a few weeks and see if theres any change. But if fecals and all around health and activity appear fine, it could simply be an individual trait, just look around...

I recieved a shipment in today, first time ordering hornworms from coastal, I usually order them from mulberry farms. They look healthy and more or less the same except for their color. Their blue rather than green, and the food is a tan sort of yellow color, rather than the usual green im used...

He still...
Just thought I'd update on the vet visit. The doctor felt that there was a good chance Leo was suffering from vitamin A deficiency, so he decided to give him a shot to boost his vitamin A levels, as well as something else I don't quite remember. I was told to look for a change in his activity...
These photos were taken on Monday, I placed him in the shower today and there seemed to be some improvement. Sorry about the blurriness my hands were a bit shakey.
You can see his eyes closed in the first two, the third shot is a close up of one eye, the next is a full body shot with both...
I'm having trouble maintaining humidity, tried a warm mist humidifier which broke, interested in getting a mistking, I've put a towel on the back of the cage to hold in some moisture, but the cage seems to dry out way to quickly.
I've tried increasing the temp but he squints his eyes and...
