    species cross

hi there, i have many chameleons books and there is little on this subject. but the two species you mention apparantly can hybridise. the chameleon handbook, Francois Le Berre page 19 there is a picture of a hybrid of furcifer pardalis and furcifer oustaleti (male) there is a paragraph on...

pretty easy to keep mantids, i have a few, i feed mine on crickets, roach nymphs (dubai + green banana roach) various flies, keep them in a ventilated container with 1 diagonal stick, container should be minimum of 3 times the animals height and twice the width. mist twice a day if no substrate...

    Nosy Faly Owners

i doubt you will be abe to spot the differences in females between locales as females look different in each locale any way, they are individual same as us, they vary in each locale to sub locale, the only way to find out is to breed them, with regards to the falys being cheap: if something...

    got a panther

i dont think its the uv tube as you have only just recieved the animal, infact if i was you i would get a 10% tube over the cham and supplement with zoo med reptivite with d3 for 3 days. eye problems can be linked with uv lights but i dont think its the problem, the cham looks under...

that cham is very ill, i would get it to a vet if i was you but to be honest it looks too far gone. it looks in pretty bad shape, i think its a female tho i only had a quick look. she looked very dehydrated what is on her tail base? what uv lights are you using? what supplements are you...

Wondering what type of panther chameleon I have..been reading about different types

at a glance i thought female, colour also looks female although pic is not very clear, but the tail looks thick at the base, although this could just look like this due to the chams posture. rob

1 egg hatched what happen to the rest

i agree with cj, but i wouldnt mist them as i wouldnt like to get water on the egg surface, i use a pipette when i need to add water to my medium. if i see an egg denting i put a few drops around the egg but not on it, sometimes the dent pops out sometimes not. if the humidity is low then i add...

Can a baby panther chameleon do well in large enclosure?

i agree with you, making sure the cham is eating can be a problem in a big viv thats why people say to use smaller vivs as young panthers are always looking for food and grow quickly, you also have to make sure the young cham is recieving enough uv, another reason why most of us keep them in...

    sleepy cham

doesnt matter what watts, your tube needs to be as long as the vivarium, over here in the uk they are sold by length, eg, 24", 30", 36" etc. the tube needs to be placed above the vivarium, best to place it near the basking spot so as he is basking for heat he is also recieving the uv from the...

    took in a sick chameleon

you dont want to be force feeding a dehydrated cham, you need to get some water into him, as said he needs to be put in a shower or hydation chamber. also get a dripper in the vivarium, position it over leaves, the dripping over the leaves should attract his attetion to drink, i also use a...

    Nutrobal Dusting Powder

i have never heard of any one using nutrobal everyday or even 3 times a week, ive never used it 3 times in a month with 1 animal. i hope we are all on the same page here, im talking about vetark nutrobal. i know its D3 level is quite low compared to other products but i dont think it should be...

    Nutrobal Dusting Powder

would you use a reptile vitamin supplement 3 times a week?, there is no way i would wether the animal is young, mature or ill, that amount of vitamins given as often as previously said will soon lead to hypervitaminosis and eventually death. i personally think that gutloading is the way to go...

    Nutrobal Dusting Powder

i would NOT use nutroal 3 times a week as your cham will overdose on vitamins, hypervitaminosis can cause organ disfunction, there is preformed vitamin A and vitamin D3 in nutrobal and it will cause problems if used to often, if you live in the usa i would use herptivite, obviously gutloading is...

    Who hand sprays???

i thought i was the only person hand spraying 20+ vivs 2-3 times a day. every one seems to use mistking over here in the uk too. i also have to change 14 water bowls. i find with misting by hand you can visually check the animals more often through the day to see if every one is ok. rob
