    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

Currently t5ho 10.0 (the bulb is hanging 13.5" away from him) Recently switched from the 5.0 when I hung it up as I thought it would be too weak with the distance and the screen

    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

He has not been using his tongue very well. These past 4 months I've been handfeeding him (water as well). A couple of days ago he started going for water on his own (yay!!), stretching his tongue a little. He does not have mbd, I have suspected gout. It seems that he has symptoms of both under...

    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

Thanks everyone for your quick responses! I think I may have to change something. Simba has been going through A LOT in the past 9 months and the vet and I are both trying to determine what the underlying cause(s) are. (Ive posted on this)...Hence the reason why is has a "rehab" house right...

    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

While this is in discussion, what are the immediate/early signs of overexposure? And underexposure?

    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

Also, worth noting... Simba only has one level ( at basking level) right now because he is rehabilitating, however one side of his cage is covered so he can get away from the light.

    T8 5.0 vs. T5 5.0

These comparisons are with the bulb on top of the screen, correct? I have a t5ho 10.0 hanging 10" above the screen, 13.5" from the light at basking (to the top of his back). Is this suitable or too much exposure?

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

Update: I have been having to "force" water down Simba off and on for months, especially in the last two. Today I gave him his water via syringe/dropper as I have been doing in the morning followed by a long mist (to encourage his drinking/eye washing). FINALLY, he's drinking on his own! He has...

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

The timing is right, but none of the other values match up...bw was submitted two days following the end of the course. Two days later an initial dose of baytril was administered (which was the one I was really concerned about), and that really knocked him down. (There is a pic above)

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

Itrafungol x 14 days Just reviewed the water analysis and it is shocking. 90th percentile nationally for lead and copper, sodium @ 16.2 mg/liter, fluoride @ .72 Definitely seems like the water is the issue. I think he was receiving some good nutrients pre filter, and that is possibly why he...

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

I had always used tap water before all of these issues arose. Everyone said I should use distilled/filetered/ro(vet included) so I started filtering it and then after a month or so, the problemsstarted popping up one by one. However, maybe he is missing some vital nutrients that are in the tap...

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

I have posted the progression, the first is the oldest ( oct 2021), the 2nd is Aug of last year, pics 3/4 are from nov last year (respiratoryinfection after tail amputation and hemipens prolapse), pic 5 is after baytril a week and a half ago, when I didn't think he would make it. And the last...

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

I've posted off and on about Simba's ongoing health problems, some of which are not related to each other, some obviously are... We went to our new chameleon vet for a recheck last week for blood work, because he is still not improving as much as we'd like. She prescribed baytril to clear up an...

Are trays for zoomed and reptizoo compatible with each other? Or any other drainage tray suggestions?

Reptizoo has a screen enclosure, which I purchased through Amazon, which states that it can be used with an "optional tray" which is available. I have looked and contacted Reptizoo and the Amazon seller and haven't had a response yet

Are trays for zoomed and reptizoo compatible with each other? Or any other drainage tray suggestions?

Thanks for your input. Simba is still going through many health issues and until he is stable and recovered well enough to climb and get around safely, he is in a smaller habitat.

MDB or Gout - Includes Xrays

I used to be a veterinary radiology technician...based on your radiographs, it doesn't look like mbd to me, however, I do see a possibly enlarged liver and he has A LOT of food in there! Constipation & dehydration can cause some lethargy/sluggishness as well... One thing to note, taking proper...

Are trays for zoomed and reptizoo compatible with each other? Or any other drainage tray suggestions?

Does anyone know if the substrate and drainage trays from zoomed are compatible with reptizoo? Specifically, the 18" x 18" reptizoo screen cage? It has a door at the bottom to slide out the drainage tray, and while the cage measures 17.6" across, the tray can only be a maximum of 16" to fit...

How to hang T5 light fixture

I currently have the reptisun T5 5.0 linear bulb. The problem im having is that when i set it directly on the screen, the temp in his basking spot is about 90 (which can creep up to 95-100 during the day). His basking area is about 6" from the top, so I am concerned he is baking. Because of...
