Hey, just an update. I ended up getting him back the day after I threw out all the bugs I had bought last time lol. They looked after him for about 9 days, they never really figured out what the issue was. Since I’ve had him he has shown 0 eye issues. Every now and then very rarely he flushes...
My first and previous cham was a Jackson and he died within a week of purchasing him from a reptile expo 4 years ago. I should have known not to purchase him, he was around 3 months and the seller had at least 15 chameleons in a single small cage on the sales floor. His name was Harambe 🥲
TBF I used to work at a PetSmart years ago and despite the inadequate enclosures for the reptiles, specially chameleons. When we had a sick hamster or Guinea pig or bearded dragon we would take them to an exotic animal vet and they would charge crazy fees and the store would still pay. I...
Agreed, but I paid full price for a healthy chameleon. Hopefully their vet is qualified, they kept insisting that he’s specialized in reptiles as well. I can only hope, he’s with them now and they promised to give me a call once they figure out what’s wrong with him. I mean as soon as he’s...
Yeah I think I might stick around with him. I held him in my hand and while he was riding it he ate some wax worms I left on the table. If that’s not trust idk what is 😁. I just hope he gets better.
By the way this is a brand spanking new Petco and they have their own in store vet clinic so...
Makes sense, will do a long misting session then. I was gonna take him to a separate vet for a physical and a fecal exam but then the eye issue came up. Ugh
I love the little guy, gonna bring him back so they can take him to their vet. But I’m not sure if should stick with him once he gets better or give up and go with a breeder. I couldn’t really make up my mind on one lol that’s why I went to Petco to take a look. Now I’m gonna be stuck with...
So I bought this little guy from Petco, I know it’s a bad idea, but he’s a total sweetheart. They had him in the back due to “eye irritation” issues. Told me he got looked at by a vet that also does reptiles. He got better and I purchased him. Everyone in the store loved the little guy.
Welp...
Gotcha, I’m sorry here is the correct link. It’s the Coospider fogger. If the temperature isn’t that low at night, would misting work? Because his humidity is pretty good and it’s holds quite well thanks to the corrugated plastic and live plants.
I’m currently running this one. I’ll try to take a pic of him with a can tomorrow, trying to give him some time to settle in. He is next to the Govee hygrometer tho if that helps. Gonna try to find a vet tho. Usually at night my house and his cage it’s around 72 degrees. During the day his cage...
To be fair I got him at Petco, I know it’s better to find a breeder. But this little guy was the love of the entire store they had a vet who works in store take a look at him because he had an eye irritation. Once he got all better they sold him to me, a lot of them were sad to see him go...
Thanks! I think It’s a male Ambilobe, looks to be fairly decent in size. It’s definitely older than 3 months, not too sure about the age tho. I was targeting around 90 degrees for the basking should I go lower or do you guys think he can handle that?
Gotcha, I did switch over to another bulb I got from home depot and got the basking temperature to around 92°F. Thanks for reminding me about the cup and the stick, that’s a great idea 👍
Hey, looooong loooong time lurker first time poster. I’m gonna be welcoming a 3 month old panther chameleon tomorrow. Just wanted to get any advice or criticism on my set up so I know what to fix.
Right now the cage is sitting on a tilted drain tray. I put mesh on the bottom of the reptibreeze...
