    Jackson’s care

I started my Jackson's Chameleon journey last month; I found https://chameleonacademy.com/jacksons-chameleon-care/ to be helpful.

Advice on keeping a female Panther Chameleon

From the photo, should I be feeding her every day still or every other day? She's bigger than I expected.

Advice on keeping a female Panther Chameleon

I don't at the moment. She's slumming it in the pet store until I get her 36" x 24" x 36" setup. I'll get them to send me a photo tomorrow.

Advice on keeping a female Panther Chameleon

Thank you for the advice; I've been told she's six months and pretty big already. At what age should I start doing this? Right away? Also, I have arcadia EarthPro-A (the one without D3), RevitaliseD3 (with D3), and bee pollen for sups along with the proper uvb.

Advice on keeping a female Panther Chameleon

Hi everyone, I'm adopting a six-month-old sambava female panther, and I wondered if the good people of the Chameleon forum could give me some advice. She has everything she needs setup wise. I'm more concerned with notable differences in care from, say, Jackson's chameleon care. This is my first...

    Lots of little flies!

From what I've been told, they can't harm your plants or chameleon; they're just annoying in large numbers. I have them in my setup.

    Lots of little flies!

You could use Hypoaspis miles, they won't kill the flying ones, but they will eat the eggs and larvae of fungus flies.

Meet Reggie - the yellow crested Jackson's Chameleon!

I've had him for a week. Still very shy, but he's settling in nicely. PS: Is it normal for him to have urates stuck to his butt. I want to wipe it off, but I don't want to freak him out.

    Sharing my new enclosure!

I was sent photos of the parents; the pair are unrelated. The male is 4/5 years, and the female is 3 years old import from a breeder; she was originally captive farm-bred.

    Sharing my new enclosure!

Thank you for the advice; the extra time switch is a great idea. It would give me more control. I also couldn't agree more on, observe, anticipate and adapt. It's a good motto I like it :) I've been in contact with a jackson's breeder near me. If all goes well, I will be the proud owner of a...

    Sharing my new enclosure!

I appreciate the input. I'm sure there will be days where I don't need the basking bulb but better safe than sorry. It's why I bought a dimming switch.

    Sharing my new enclosure!

I live in the UK; it can get pretty cold here. It's summer, and The ambient temperature in my home is only 19°C.

    Sharing my new enclosure!

Hello Upgrading down the road isn't an issue. I enjoy building bio-active terrariums. Who knows, I might try replicating Sonny13's build. I invested in a dimming switch for my basking bulb (set 80-85°F /26-29°C ) and a MistKing. This there anything I'm missing?

    Sharing my new enclosure!

I did some research, and I've pieced it together. The Yellow-Crested Jackson's Chameleon (Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus) are more common and get much larger than the other two subspecies (Machakos Hills and Dwarf Jackson's Chameleon). Yellow-crested exceeds 16" while the other too only...

    Sharing my new enclosure!

See that would make a lot more sense. So Yellow-crested Jackson's Chameleons get to 12-18 inches, and Dwarf Jackson's Chameleon are the ones that stay under 12inches?

    Sharing my new enclosure!

Hello, Very impressive; you have given me inspiration for my next project. This is what confuses me. Jackson's half the size of veiled chameleons, and yet they have the same minimum size enclosure requirements? But female panther chameleons are slightly larger than Jackson's, but can go an 18...

Ty, for feedback and a free-range tree next to the enclosure, is a great idea.

    Sharing my new enclosure!

Yeah, it's going to have to be a Jackson's chameleon with the size enclosure I have or a CB carpet chameleon, if I can find one (not likely, lol). With my setup being a bioactive glass terrarium and UK climate, I'll be able to achieve the needed high humidity and nighttime temp drop. I'm...
