Further update: on Saturday the vet cleaned out Egg's mouth and I have oral antibiotics (baytril) to give her daily. Just a general update: I did find a vet that will see her tomorrow. She still has an appetite and is eating (with my help).

She definitely has some tongue flesh left and it is even a bit sticky. So when close enough, she does try to stick it out a bit and she's able to use her tongue to help her swallow.
